A new Ohio EPA inspection report released October 21, 2025, shows the Pickaway Correctional Institution’s wastewater plant failed to maintain key biosolids testing and land application records.
Inspectors found missing fecal coliform data, incomplete oxygen uptake tests, and lost documentation for more than 370 tons of sludge spread in Pickaway County.
The EPA says no active contamination was found but warned the prison to tighten up its recordkeeping and testing or face possible enforcement.
